FOSTER WITH DEEBY’S

A place on your couch.
A second chance for a little dog.

We’re 100% foster-based. Every little dog’s next chapter starts with someone opening their home.

A home makes
all the difference.

Deeby’s Senior Chihuahua Rescue is 100% foster-based. We don’t have a shelter or a building full of kennels. We have people who open their homes, share their couches, and wash an unbelievable amount of blankets.

We need more of those people, especially people willing to care for seniors, hospice dogs, and dogs with medical needs.

SMALL DOGS. DIFFERENT NEEDS.

Who needs
a foster home?

We specialize in small dogs, usually under 15 pounds. Many are seniors, but we also care for younger dogs and sometimes puppies.

Some are easygoing couch companions. Others are playful, frightened, or need more medical attention. We do our best to match each dog with a foster’s household, experience, and abilities, including the needs of their own pets.

We will never force a foster dog on you.

AT THEIR OWN PACE

Every dog gets
the time they need.

Our goal is to give each dog the care, time, and attention they need, then find the best possible home for them.

Sometimes that happens quickly. Sometimes it takes months. For some hospice dogs, their foster home becomes their forever home. Fostering means understanding that each dog’s journey will be different.

WHERE WE NEED YOU MOST

A special place
for seniors and
hospice dogs.

Hospice fostering doesn’t always mean caring for a dog who is actively dying. It can mean helping an older dog with medication, mobility, more frequent potty breaks, or ongoing medical conditions.

Some may have months or even years of good life ahead. They need someone willing to give them that time and care.

You don’t have to be able to foster every kind of dog. There is room for people who are wonderful with puppies, patient with shy dogs, or experienced with seniors who have medical needs.

Right now, our greatest need is for people willing to welcome the older dogs and those who need extra care.

THE EVERYDAY DIFFERENCE

What fostering
involves.

A safe place to sleep is only part of it. You become one of the most important people in your foster dog’s life.

Get to know them.

You learn their quirks, what makes them happy, what worries them, and what kind of home would suit them. Those observations help us find the right adoptive family.

Share their story.

Pictures, videos, and updates show the sweet moments, silly habits, and personalities that make each dog special. Sharing those moments with friends and on social media can help a dog find their person.

Meet them with patience.

Fostering takes patience, compassion, reliability, and a willingness to learn. Some dogs arrive frightened, confused, unwell, or still learning house-training. Others settle in and claim your favorite blanket immediately.

BETTER, TOGETHER

A team
effort.

Deeby’s is entirely volunteer-run. We all have jobs, families, pets, and responsibilities of our own. Dependable foster families who communicate, follow through, and work with the team make an enormous difference.

You don’t have to be an expert. You do need to be ready for the commitment.

ONE MORE HOME. ONE MORE CHANCE.

Could your home
be the next step?

Sometimes the reason we can’t help another dog is simple: we don’t have a foster home available.
